The RoHS Directive

The EC directive, RoHS “Restriction of certain Hazardous Substances” (2002/95/EC) regulates the usage of designated materials in electrical devices.

Based on ecological conviction, we have decided to fulfill the RoHS recommendations as of March 1, 2005.

For Benedikt & Jäger, a change in certain production materials was conducted, making all products RoHS compliant. One of the main changes occurred in our fixing and terminal screw surface treatments. (Change from hexavalent chrome (Cr 6+) to “chrome-hexavalent-free” surface treatment.)

We would like to point out that RoHS is not a legal requirement at this time. It is simply a standard, based on improving health and environmental conditions, that many manufacturers and suppliers require.
